Does this mean I draw souls?
Have you ever thought to yourself, and thought “remember when…” and remembered something silly, stupid, or sinful that you have done? Well, it has dawned on me, that I cannot do this with God, like I can do it with my friends- because God has forgotten!
God says in the Bible, “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins” (Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, and the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins”, Heb. 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their iniquities and I will remember their sins no more”).
Of course God is almighty and all-knowing, so it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to say He forgets or doesn’t know about our sins, but rather God chooses not to remember our sins. He chooses never to bring them up again. He doesn’t forget because He can’t- but He doesn’t remember them either. He will just never bring them up again. Why? Because they have been forgiven by Jesus on the cross.
This is why, when you read Hebrews 11, you will see a listing of great people of faith. Abraham, Moses, David, etc. Yet, none of their sins are listed even though they were sinners. Why? Because God remembers their sins no more.
One last thought: Jesus told us to forgive like God forgives us (Eph. 4:32 “And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”). So, if someone does something wrong against you, then asks for forgiveness, and you forgive him, you are never supposed to bring it up again… ever! Maybe you won’t ever forget the it, but then again, you can choose not to remember it. This is what true forgiveness means.
|So, my boyfriend is mailing me a ukulele to keep me busy while he is at sea- with the condition that I use it for ONLY God-approved music. As in, worship, worship, worship!|
|And, of course…will be posting videos once I can play a song or two!|
